Win Tix to Brazilian Carnaval at Nokia Live!

Here at LatinoLA, we've been fans of all thing Brazilian since our launch back in the day.

One of our favorite ways to celebrate Brazilian culture is by attending the annual Brazilian Carnaval, produced by our friends at BrazilianNites. This year, Carnaval takes place at Nokia Live on March 2, 2013.

Win tix to Brazilian Carnaval! Here's how: Go to the Brazilian Carnaval calendar page on LatinoLA here. Scroll down to the bottom of the page. Where it says: "Leave a Message", tell us why you really, really want to go. Best comments win tix! (Make sure you include your name in the message field.)

Bao Sorte! (Good luck!)

Cold Weekend, Hot Events

Cold enough for you? Unless you're from certain parts of Argentina, Chile or the Mexican state of Durango, this weather is a bone-chilling challenge.

We've got ways to keep you warm.

Check out the events on our Calendario and you'll bask in the fires of our cultura. Or stay home and catch up on the great stories by LatinoLA's talented writers below.

Speaking of, we'd like to welcome LatinoLA's newest intern Liliana Mota, a student at Cal State Fullerton. She's adding to her workload (2 part-time jobs plus full-time school!) by helping out with editorial and marketing as we transition from LatinoLA to LatinoCities. You can read some of her writing here, here and here.

Speaking of, the final tally on the LatinoCities crowd funding campaign: 75 supporters, $3,231 raised, 70 rewards claimed! My sincere thanks to everyone who contributed and supported this fundraising effort. I'll keep you posted on our progress on this FB page -- https://www.facebook.com/ HelpLatinoLABecomeLatinoCities Log in, "like" it, give us your comments and suggestions. ¡Gracias!
